CIKG “Nicodemus” Response Guide
This campaign is based on the famous conversation between Jesus and a religious leader named Nicodemus, who was searching for more in his life. The core message is about the possibility of a new, spiritual life—being "born again"—that is available through Jesus Christ.
The campaign addresses the internal restlessness and need for a complete change ("The old nature could not be improved. It needed to be completely replaced"). It shows that Jesus, through his death and resurrection, provides the only Port of Entry to a restored relationship with God. This new life is a free gift received by faith, not by trying to be good enough.Target Audience
The audience is a worldwide, general adult (18+) audience. They are often:
Restless and Seeking: They feel that something is missing, even if they have achieved success or follow a religion.
Open to Spiritual Questions: They are looking for clear answers about God, a new start, or what it means to be "born again."
Searching for Meaning: They want a purpose and a personal relationship with God that is stable and real.
Suggested Follow-Up
The questions below are designed to be simple and open-ended.
Initial Follow-Up Questions (Keep it simple and open-ended):
Thank you for reaching out! What was it about the video—the idea of searching for "something more"—that made you connect with us?
The video mentions starting a "journey." What change are you hoping for most in your life right now?
Nicodemus was asking big questions. What is the main question about faith or life that you are wrestling with today?
Have you ever heard the words "born again" before? What does that phrase mean to you?
Going Deeper:
The message says that Jesus offers a new life. What does a "new life" or a "fresh start" look like for you?
What makes it hard to believe that God's love for you is not based on how good you are or what you accomplish?
The campaign talks about feeling lost or walking in a "fog." What is something in your life right now that feels out of control?
What does it mean to you to simply receive a great gift, like the gift of new life?
Suggested Verses and Bible Studies
The Need for a New Birth:
Focus on John 3:3 ("Truly I tell you, unless someone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.") and the idea of spiritual birth.
Discuss how the first birth is physical, but the second birth is spiritual.
The Love and Solution of God:
Focus on John 3:16 ("For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.")
Discuss how God provided the solution to the problem of sin and separation through Jesus.
The Result: New Life and Identity:
Explore 2 Corinthians 5:17 ("If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, and see, the new has come.”) and John 1:12 (“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God”).
Discuss the idea of having a new purpose and a new identity as a child of God.
The Path to Receiving:
Look at Ephesians 2:8-9 (“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”)
Explain that new life is a free gift received by faith (believing in Jesus), not by personal effort or good works.
