Trust Campaign Response Guide

This campaign speaks to individuals who have experienced the deep pain of betrayal, which has led them to build walls and lose faith in people and institutions. The central message is that while human trust will inevitably shatter, there is an unshakeable foundation in Jesus Christ, who knows betrayal, yet still offers perfect love, forgiveness, and an eternal relationship. He is the anchor that allows for healing and the rediscovery of genuine community.

Target Audience

The primary audience is spiritual seekers who have been hurt by people (family, friends, leaders) and now struggle with deep trust issues. For the skeptical subset, this includes people who are wary of religious claims, question why a "good God" allows suffering/betrayal, and are looking for evidence and rational consistency rather than purely emotional comfort. They are seeking a reliable, non-hypocritical source of hope.

Suggested Follow-Up

Building Trust (Initial Questions - Geared toward Skeptics):

  • Thank you for connecting with the video. What's the biggest obstacle or doubt stopping you from trusting this message about Jesus?

  • You mentioned [their initial response]. If a perfect God exists, why is there so much betrayal and broken trust in the world?

  • What would need to be true about a community for you to genuinely trust it?

  • Is the concept of "forgiveness" just a religious way to feel better about yourself, or do you think it can be something real?

Going Deeper (Geared toward Skeptics):

  • The message says Jesus never betrays or leaves. What kind of proof or evidence would you need to believe that claim in your own life?

  • We talk about faith, but what's the difference between Christian faith and just believing in a myth or a good story?

  • The campaign discusses Jesus’ death and resurrection. Why is that event, 2,000 years ago, still relevant to the broken trust you're feeling today?

  • What does "God's design" for human community actually look like, and how is it better than the community you are trying to find or build for yourself?

Suggested Verses and Bible Studies

  • God's Unchanging Character (The Anchor):

    • Focus on 2 Timothy 2:13 ("if we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.") and Psalm 33:4 ("For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.").

    • Discuss: God is the only stable, reliable source of truth, whose promises are not based on human integrity, which always fails.

  • Unshakeable Love (Against Abandonment):

    • Explore Romans 8:38-39 ("For I am convinced that neither death nor life... nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.") and Hebrews 13:5 ("Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.").

    • Discuss: Jesus offers a radical, comprehensive promise of love that cannot be broken by time, circumstances, or our own failures.

  • The Foundation of Faith (Truth Claims):

    • Study 1 Corinthians 15:14 ("And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.") and John 20:29 ("Then Jesus told him, 'Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.'").

    • Discuss: The Christian faith rests on a historical, verifiable claim (the resurrection). This foundation offers a trustworthy basis for believing in the invisible reality of God's presence.
